Got my daughter and her fiancé surf fishing now. Grandson going with me for first lesson Monday. He has reeled in a 23 inch Corbina for me in July but he will fish his own pole now. 8 years old and going to fish with my reel and pole from when I was his age. He is 8. I am 69 now. Kencore 6 foot light weight and a Mitchell Garcia 308. I have many 300s and 308s I use to surf fish almost daily.

another good day surf fishing Hermosa Beach. 1.5 hours 21 fish between 3 of us. 1 Corbina in the bunch. Surprise.

Carolina rig with gulp sand worm. Another 12 fish today. I ray in the mix today. One of us threw a LC for awhile no results there.

Things have slowed down here in So Cal. Skunked yesterday 2 croaker today from surf. Barred surf perch better gear here soon or it will be boring. Time to go to LC and fish halibut and rays

Perfect 73 degree weather here at the beach. Fishing slow here. 1 croaker 1 Corbina 1 halibut. Needed a surf perch for the cycle. Better days to come. New Okuma rod and Shimano Vanford 3000 reel going into play this week. Should be different than old school Mitchell 300s I have used for years. Don’t think fish will know the difference though.

Corbina caught in the surf this morning. Modified LC did the job.

Surf fishing in the South Bay has gone way off. Looks like Corbina and croaker bite all but gone now. Will get the Lucky Craft and other lures out and target halibut and big rays. Need the parred surf perch to come in too.
