If not Plum, then Jeremy.
I do remember someone eating the oysters then using the elixir on their bait. My feeble mind won't recall who it was. Sam's Wholesale club sells a frozen bag of mixed sea creature parts that's intended to be used in gumbo or something. It's about a 3 lb bag & everything is cut up in small 1/2 to 3/4 inch chunks. I bought a bag of the medley & used it on my juglines. the stuff worked but I never used it but that 1 time. Almost all the fish were channel cat which will eat anything & i don't want channel cat. I had only thawed out a small amount of the bag so I tried to follow the directions & eat the remainder of the mixture myself. Good idea, awful results. That stuff was so bad I can't believe a channel cat ate it. Tight lines.
I think you got to be Asian and have that stuff in your blood in order to enjoy it. Or Scandinavian, they eat some vile fish concoctions. Think lutefisk and Surströmming. They say it's not bad once you get past the smell. I disagree. It's bad. Foul in fact. As is, most likely, Hakarl - fermented (rotten) shark that's hung to dry for 5 months or so. I've never tried it. Nor will I.
Step 1) conrainer of white Playdough (sp?)
Step 2) dice sardines
Step 3) mix dough and dines with electric beater.
Step 4) put mix into the dough container and put the llid on.
Step 5) put in freezer
Step 6) remove from freezer the night before going fishing
Step 7) make a ball any size you wish and put in on your hook. Be sure to put a red bead so it slides freely on your line above the hook.
Also you can try yellow, red and green dough
Sardines mix with flour and sand
Me thinks, the heck with bait dats me lunch!
NoCal Steve,
YES!! I know nothing of playdough, but can understand its consistency, which is exactly what I am looking for. I shall be purchasing some white and yellow playdough, and am absolutely positive the rainbow trout here in orthern New Mexico , which we have retired to, have not seen this type of bait, since NM is huge and has the third smallest population of any state.
Thank you again!
Gene S.
Well Gene adding sardines and oyster oil I'm sure it couldn't hurt with either one
Does play dough float? Whatever you use you gotta get it up off the bottom - 's why I suggested power bait, plus power bait has magic trout dust in it, they can't resist it, oughta be illegal.

Well 27, it's lunch time here. I think I'll hold off making a sandwich with this Power Bait & take it down below the dam this afternoon & see if i can get some trout to eat it. The wildlife department has been releasing some stocker browns so i might get lucky. It'll only be rainbows or brown's today, no stripers as the Corps has the dam shut down for maintenance. It's too windy to be out on the lake or I'd be pestering the crappie & smallmouth. Take care 27 & tight lines.

Sardines & bread. Sounds like gourmet sandwich makings for a redneck. Hope you find your answer here. Good luck.
What's wrong with a redneck. Just Sayin.
DAMORE

Try panko instead of bread. Use a small amount of quick oats and unflavored gelatin
Why not the Best of both worlds??...Wonder bread, Sardines wrapped in Power Bait!
Hey, you never know.
You might give some Skippy’s Peanut Butter a shot??

Hey you let us know if you catch a brown on power bait. I don't think I've ever done that. One of the lakes I fish a lot holds a healthy population of both browns and bows and the only browns I've ever caught there were early morning with a super duper. The DFW stocks bows there but I think the browns are all wild. Maybe that's why?
get the anchovy paste from the store and rub it on cotton balls. in the salad section.
I had the same problem with home made dough ball until I started to apply what I had learned from baking bread. To give bread a better texture, you add vital wheat gluten to your flour. Vital wheat gluten will add 'stretch' to your dough ball, allowing it to hang onto a hook without crumbling. Just work in a bit at a time until you have a texture that you like.
