All of those lime flavored beers are simply awful . I don't drink Corona beer because if it tastes so bad you got to squeeze a lime in it to make it drinkable I don't want it. I don't like Lite beers either. They taste like watered down beer. I'm a grown man and I don't want a "training beer".

The best beer I've ever drank was in Germany. Must have been good because I can't remember the names of any of them. The best one was brewed in a little town call Luneburg Germany.

As a guy who spent 56 of my 66 years in Wisconsin and 50 of those years drinking beer in a state known for "professional drinkers" according to comedian Lewis Black, that's a tough one to answer.

Some of the local beers over the years were pretty bad. Old Milwaukee, Schlitz, Rhinelander, Hamms, Point(Stevens Point, WI), were some that were pretty bad. The best I've had, Coors, before they watered it down, Special Export and Heineken were pretty good. This was long before all the specialty, crafted beers you can get now. I'm strictly a Canadian Club drinker now and not very often.

I’m with you on the first bunch of bad ones Greg. I went to college in Point and never developed a taste for it. Can’t agree with the Heineken though...every one I have ever had tasted skunky to me. I really like Yuengling Lager and their Black&Tan beers. Molson Canadian is a good one, New Castle Brown Ale is nice. New Glarus Spotted Cow is good as well. Can’t do any IPAs or Sour beers. Those are undrinkable and I would boil brats in those either. Alaskan Amber is nice and I’ll drink just about any Maibock or Octoberfest when in season, too. Suddenly, I’m pretty thirsty...

I really don't drink beer anymore. Once in a great while, Bud or Miller Lite. I'm a Canadian Club drinker now and not very often. The wife likes Leinenkugel. The one they put out in the fall. Tough to find down here.

Any update on your plans for Pigeon Forge? Have you cancelled it?

Sam Adams Octorfest I like a lot. Heineken - skunky skunky. Newcastle Brown - I can drink it all day. Anybody ever had Fat Tire Amber Ale? Made in Colorado, not bad at all.

I'm not much of a drinker but was given a cold one on a hot fishing day a couple years ago & I'll never forget the nasty taste that came from that can. It was a beer from Wisconsin called Pigs Eye beer. The guy said they had Pigs Eye Lite but he couldn't drink it. Had to be bad.

2nd was Pigs Eye. Really?

Oh well lesson learned.

Look what you have started, Spirit!! BTW, I'm guilty of saying that "I have never had a bad beer". But that statment should be clarified, perhaps, I should have said that I have never drank a bad beer, it may have passed my lips, only to pass them again. You get the drift. The IPA's, the Ales and the foreign beers do not make it pass the nose. The LaCrosse Brewing Co, used to make Heilman's Special Export Light and it was super good beer. But now it is made in Milwaukee, WI. under the G. Heileman Brewing Co. and it not as good as it used to be. I still drink it, but prefer Miller Lite. Pig's Eye Beer was made in St. Paul, MN. and I think, closed the same year that it opened, 2002. I never tried it. The nickname for St. Paul, MN. is Pig's Eye. It was discovered by a Frenchman who only had one eye. So be it!

I knew a midwest guy would mention Special Export. Good stuff. I prefer Bud Lite over Miller Lite but drank ML for years. Either one is fine.

My beer has to be amber or darker. If only beer on menu is Bud or Miller, I'll have water. And I'm s beer drinker. Have 1 every day with dinner, once in a while 2, never more. My go to is Harpoon IPA a New Englsnd Ipa. When I'm out it will be Guinness or microbrewed ipa .
When I was in college drank Ballantine ale. Buddy and I bought cases of it in quart size. One summer had calluses on my hand from opening too many bottles, but it was a fun summer. Anybody remember Ballentine, the 3 ring sign was their logo.

Leinie’s Canoe Paddle Kolsch is great and their Northwoods Lager is very tasty. If we make it to Pigeon Forge I will ask you what you need me to bring along for your Wife. 😉
We have not canceled yet, but it is about 6 weeks away.

Last year a friend of my kids was here in Arkansas fishing on the White river. We had stopped for a break and while standing on the downside of the boat holding it from drifting away he hears "clink clink... clink clink" so he looks down in the water and here rolling down the rocks in the water is his favorite beer, Keystone, so he picks it out of the 50* water and cracks it and drinks it down. This is at 7:30 in the morning. He said it had to be a sign.
No idea where it came from. lol
