Ya, Mike that's a yote. Too many of them around here. They would raise hell with my coon hounds when I was hunting coon. I would have to get to a treed coon before the yotes did or the yotes would go to the tree and kick hell out of my hounds. It was a game to them, as soon as the hounds started barking tree, the yotes would move in. They are to smart to hunt, the guys that hunt them on mules will get a few, as will the trappers, but not enough.

At times they wake us up at 2am with all of the racket that they make when hunting behind our house. Funny that its it's mostly at 2am.

Well, I don't know where that particular coyote lives, but it certainly is a fat and hefty animal. Most of those in Texas are much thinner and more lank, or hungry looking. Just Sayin....RJS
Here in NM we used to have a lot of them. Not as many now. We do have a lot of foxes here in Clovis.
