What i like best about Archery season is that it is in October and no gun hunters are out and about and less likelyhood of getting shot. Just Sayin...RJS

Well Robert, I wish that was true. Here in one of the WLM areas, one of the bow hunters in a tree was shot. Not dead, but hurt real bad. The guy told the warden that he had thought he was a turkey, and that is how he got his fine, hunting turkeys out of season. In another state, a bow hunter shot a squirrel hunting, crossing a log, while wearing a yellow rain jacket. The man said he never felt the arrow, just felt a sting and reached to scratch, and the arrow was still in him. My friend, and neighbor, that I went to school with, even dated his sister, got shot. He now lives in Arkansas, and has sold many things he designed. He and his son was hunting for hogs, and his own son shot him. Seems he was following a blood trail, that went into some brush, his son saw the movement and shot him. The doctors said he would never walk again, but he proved them wrong.

Wow! I've heard about a bow hunter falling out of a blind and cutting his femoral artery with a broadhead and bleeding out. You might go back and look for my article on the form about Arkansas Hog hunters. Just Sayin..RJS

RJ Think about a pistol crossbow. They're great for squirrel. I've got 2. 1 I've got fishing bolts for with spool and line. Still to get a fish tho and the other is for varmants ie squirrels.

Well, I am so crippled up with two bad knees that deer, squirrels and such are quite safe. I only fish now to teach my great nephew, Jeremiah, how to enjoy fishing. Still love guns, have quite a few. Just Sayin...RJS

RJ If you can hobble out side and sit in a chair you can plink a squirrel out of that oak tree by your house. I've got COPD so I can't go far myself so I'm not traipsing around in no forest. It's about all I can muster to drag my 🐟 ing equipment on my little hand truck with a 3 legged stool to my fishing spot on the creek. If I set on the bank fishing I have to get on my hands and knees and climb up a small tree. First time I couldn't stand up it scared the bajees out of me till I figured out what to do.

I went back and seen an error on my last post. I said my furthest rifle shot was 25 yards. Definitely not right, my farthest shot was 323 yards!

Used to be in NJ you had to have a disability, like my bad shoulder, but they recently passed it as legal to hunt with I believe. I had a crossbow due to my shoulder injury. Pretty darn accurate.

It wasn't the sound, he actually thought it was a hog. Wayne, was on all fours, trying to be as quit as he can, and his son thought it was one of the hogs, that they saw. Most, if not all, never shoot at sound, with a bow.

Look on sportsman's guide, they have some good deals and prices competitive
