Cutting braided line.
another product that I use to cut braid, believe it or not,
Is that I use those plastic envelope openers that have a razor blade in the back of the opener that works great for braid
I use a lot of braided line. Fire line and power pro. I have a least 6 rods setup with braid 6-20lbb test. Best way I found to cut is a good pair of toenail clippers or small surgical scissors but good fingernail or toenail clippers are easier to put in you pocket.
I agree whole heartily, cuticle or toenail clippers are really good to make small precise snips

Found these at Bass Pro yesterday, iirc $17. They spooled my reel, showed me what they use. Guy said they’d been using the same one behind the counter for two years, since he’d started working there. Has an LED light behind the shears.
I bought these at a Bait & Tackle Shop
in Nags Head, North CArolina today. Tried them out on three different levels of braid line. It took just the slightest bit tension on the line to quickly clean cut the braided line. The bait shop used them.
Deleted, as was duplicated.
Sea striker cost ya but it's the way to go actually better off not using braids
I keep a sharp knife with me when I'm fishing and I only use braid line. It cuts very easily but must be really sharp
what is the name of the clippers
Sorry Murph, but I can’t agree with staying away from using braid, especially the newer offerings. The research and development of specific models for a myriad of reel types has provided us with line that lasts longer, is much stronger per diameter and after taking the time to learn a few basic “braid “ knots, more reliable than mono. I do admit however that I do add a fluorocarbon shock leader 1.5 X the length of the rod l’m using it on. The majority of the reels I own are now spooled with braid.
It has definitely made a loyal user out of me.

Sorry, I did not inquire about the name and they had no label on them.
I am a huge fan of a good quality multi tool. I’ve had Leathermans for decades and I don’t go anywhere without one on my hip period ! The scissors are small but great. Very sharp and do a very good job. Not perfect as is the nature of braid , but they work. Great quality. I wore out the diamond file ( sharpens an awful lot of hooks ). Called em up about it and they said send it in ( life time guaranteed ). It came back better than new. Amazing! Handy as hell for everything. Even has an eye to attach a lanyard. Don’t want it to go in the drink. Tight lines folks !
Let me help you. NOTHING works! Without tension you are herding cats or pushing a ball with a rope or shoveling cow crap with a spoon. Get my point? Just like tying braid straight to a lure. Roland Martin says the palomar is the ONLY knot and it has to be tied a particular way. Three years and 15 different ways and i still have zero confidence in any FG knot! Love how it turns out until i cast and watch my lure and leader keep on going or land a fish and just lift my line and watch the leader slip out and fall to the ground!! What the crap? Getting ready to try one more way from youtube Flukemaster video.
