I know the story about Davis lake, and sure wish we had Walleye in some lakes here in California. They are better eating than any Trout you can catch, and they can exist with all other fish!

Welcome aboard there DaleM. Grab ahold and hang on itโs a ride on here. Great bunch of guys and gals with a lot if help and info.
Welcome Dale. Tell us where you're at in California.
Local urban legend has it that some guy had a private lake/pond that he stocked with walleye for his own pleasure. Unfortunately didn't place it well and the pond/lake washed out and flowed into the Columbia, thus the "stocking" of the Big C was on....no natural predators for the mature ones.... game on.
Could've been worse.......... could've been drum, or carp, or tilapia or .... ?
Nice fishing. Thanks for the pics. Way to go.๐

On the Columbia and Snake there are no limits on size or number of walleye. The Feds and State DFW want them out because they arfe an invasive specie and they prey on salmon and steelhead.
could they prey on bass and or other fish I wonder . We have them in our lake in PA

Fish will eat fish fry, too! Pun intended, FYI, baby fish are called fry๐

We fish from Priest Rapids down to the first corner at white bluffs. We just look for current seams where faster water is flowing by slow water. The sides of the river also have finger bars that point downstream. We fish upstream behind them very slowly. Bottom walker, slow death hook and nightcrawler. Along white bluffs is very good, but if you dont have a jet sled it is tricky.
