Red Worms are good. They don't require refrigeration or ice. Some outfitters call them Tiger Worms. They are simply red wigglers. Best type for composting too. Earthworms are different species.

Yesterday I was fishing bridges in the bayou with red worms trying to catch some blue gill to stock the little pond with. Hung up on a few red fish on an ultra light reel and landed one. Also hung up on a few speckled trout. Never in my life had I known that redfish would eat redworms. I reckon I've been doing it wrong the whole time 😂

Have you tried the live green worms? Walmart sells them here in KCMO.

Interesting...just down the road here in the Panhandle...DOA works great, spent the extra money for the voodoo shrimp no luck not even a chaser going after it. Best live bait here is pinfish...problem with shrimp is the pinfish attack them immediately... The pinfish also take the eyes, legs & parts of the tails off the DOA...darn crooks...

Pinfish can be brutal when you use fresh bait. Like a pack of piranhas.

We were fishing by some lite docks at night. Couldn't catch a thing, the pinfish were demolishing the shrimp before anything could get at them. My buddy says we need to go get more shrimp. I disagreed saying we are just feeding the pinfish. Started using the DOA every toss was a hit. No more problem with pinfish.

I’ve always done well with fresh mullet cut into little “steak “ pieces. They can’t resist them. The mullets were caught with a cast net

The mullet that we use for bait are “finger mullet “, large minnow type bait fish, not much larger than your finger, as the name implies. Help yourself to these, if you like. Just trying to be of help.

Understand, have used finger mullet for bait off shore.
