New to fishing. good or bad lure?
Hi zoey. Actually meant Hipshot. Curious about where because then I'll know what fish to look for.
Me thinks bottom line is did u catch any thing with it? Looks like long worm to me from da picture.
This is a metal jig lure, mostly fished by jigging it off the bottom up and down a few feet. It can also be used as a metal squid lure (like a Hopkins or Kastmaster)which you cast out and reel back with various actions you control; rip it across the surface for Bluefish and Stripers, retrieve with a stop, reel, jerk, stop, reel, jerk near the bottom for Fluke, Stripers, Weakfish, and again, Blues, or the above retrieve, but only faster to keep it off the bottom.

Nice . Im in EAB ! That will work for blues and stripers. Stripers must be 28” to keep and only 1 per day. No size limit on blues. 10 fish limit, but I doubt will be an issue.
When I ran the fishing dept at a hardware store in the 70s ( yes, I know--I am dating myself!) I learned that some lures are meant to catch fish and some are made to catch fishermen!
Still, it looks like a decent lure worth trying.

This will be my first time using lures. Always used salted or frozen baits.
The people here have been very helpful and still are :)

Typical metal for bluefish and stripers. Zoey nailed it, it looks like a sand eel.
