Ronnie the shovel nose shark does look a lot like the shovel nose ray, Hers could be one or the other.

Shovel nosed guitarfish. I think the shark, ray and guitarfish are all one and the same.

Used to catch a lot of them in San Diego. Not very good eating, but edible. More a nuisance than anything else, they don't fight much either. Like pulling in seaweed.
