Oh yes it's very much acceptable...I fish alone a lot and with friends and family. I'm in the process of fixin up an ole Jon Boat to go out and run some floats...my favorite way of spendin some of my time doin...ALONE
I think it's actually expected. I fish alone at least 95% of the time. Most people don't want to work at it as much as I do and get annoyed with me anyway. Works out best for everyone. Plus, then you don't have to worry about someone else hooking you or tangling your line.

Only problem fishing by yourself is you can’t share your excitement when you catch a big fish. Still awesome though.

I like fishing alone but often it is good to have a friend along to verify those "that got away". Went with my friend yesterday and caught these and 5 others that were in the 2 pound class. The big one weighed 6 pounds and I dropped a 4 pounder into the lake when I was trying to get a picture of it.
If you fish alone nobody knows how big your fish or your lie.
i have enjoyed being relaxed after a day, or nite, of fishing as it seems to help me unwind and im sure a lot will agree on that. A simple camera, or phone nowadays to take a pic of that nice one before it goes back under water is great.Always made sure that the loved ones at home knew about my trip...whether it was just for a few hours or overnite too is only being thoughtful .

Looking into fishing as a hobby, gonna start with some lakes maybe get a cheap boat and go boat fishing on lake and eventually maybe expand from there.

I am the same way 90% -10% !
I’ve had some of the best times of my life, in the woods and on the lake alone! My wife goes fishing with me most of the time, but I still hunt alone. Some body said, “ If I waited for everyone else to go, I wouldn’t go “.
Just be careful, and have at it. Good luck.

I fish alone - don't know anyone who cares about it. But I don't mind at all being alone. I live alone after my husband died - like that too.
The only time, I'd like to fish with someone would be if I caught a nice bass & they would take the picture. I don't know how to do that yet.
If, you fall in love with fishing and it consumes your daily thoughts you will eventually be fishing alone unless your lucky and have others that have your same feelings and time.
.....OVER.....

Can anybody tell me who these "FS Digest (a regular here)" people are. Just Asking. Every post one starts. It's only other "FS Digest (a regular here)" people answering until one of the people I know answers and you don't here from them anymore. Are they Admin people?
Gordon,I think they are people coming in on an app. The "FS Digest" is the Fishing Stage Digest, and the number of posts is the total of all posts ever on this site. That's just a guess, but I suppose you could ask administration.
