Peanut butter is an excellent start to some of the best catfishing bait you will ever make for yourself.

Take about a half of a jar full of peanut butter. Add some kind of fish oil. They sell menhaden fish oil, or I use sardines, unflavored, in oil, and mix a can of them in with the PB. Use only enough of the oil to make the PB gooey, but still able to stay on your hook. Make sure to smash the sardines into small pieces.

There are all kinds of commercially made hooks for using stink bait. They work well with the PB concoction. Dip your hook in the gooey PB and sardine stuff and throw it out and let it sit, or drag it very slowly across the bottom of the water. The sticky PB will leave a trail on the bottom while the sardine oil and bits of the stirred in sardines will rise and spread out in and on the water.

You can also use stink bait and add some to the mixture. As far as that goes, you can add anything you think might help. A little cornmeal if you get too much oil in the mixture. But you won't need anything other than the PB and sardines or other fish oil. Even cheap fish oil tablets work. For real!!!

You can even cover cut bait in this stuff. It may take a few minutes for the cats to find it, but once they do, you should have pretty continuous action. Enjoy, and no this is not a joke.

Correct! The peanut butter is a bonding agent as well as gelatin.
Many of nights spent rebaiting as the current washed it away.

There was no science to it. We took what we had made bait lit the lantern and watched the rod tips. Channel cats , carp and turtles all took the bait. Yes most of it included peanut butter.

Grind up in a blender dry dog food or cat mix it with peanut butter and keep cold it stays on the hook better. Good for baiting minnow traps, carp, catfish, blue gills. If you want it to work faster dilute some of the mix with water in a plastic bottle. When you get to your fishing spot put a few holes in the bottle tie it up with a string and put it in the water, it will work as chum. Don't forget your bottle when you are done, don't want to litter. Good luck
