Big A, I may upset you one day. I love to talk politics, and from the adds that appear on FS, I would imagine that my politics run about the same as most of you guys. So, if I do bring up politics, please don't come gunnin' for me. I kind of thought that this part of the forum was set aside for that king of silliness.

With no animosity intended...

Wasn't bein' harsh or critical,
just pointing out that it's a
very unpopular subject here
that has caused too many arguments, so most of us
just prefer to avoid it !

Just about everything else including religion is pretty much fair game on this site. Jokes, inspiring stories, recipes, pics of kids and grandkids, pics of attractive women, boats, fish, people's yards and fishing spots, the subject matter covers fishing and so much more.

I guess restricting one subject and asking people to keep comments to themselves, isn't unreasonable.

It just creates uncomfortable situations and becomes a
'downer' for everyone else
reading, so that particular topic
is avoided; we'd prefer to 'keep
it light, keep it lively', and try to keep it friendly !

Glad to read I am not alone on that subject. Sure we have the option to read or not to read a topic, its just good to have a place to go that it doesn't jump out at us. TV is bad enough and when the remote gets worn out from trying to get away from it, off it goes.

I’m 70 and my lovely wife is 65. And to be honest she doesn’t look it. Quite often when we see another woman her age that looks much older she asks me if she looks her age..... and, of course, I always give her the correct answer. And this my friends is why she never complains when I mention I want to go fishing today......

Funny about that ! I've found
that since I joined this forum, I've been so busy reading, laughing
at, and/or responding to these posts that my daytime TV watching has dropped by
nearly 50% and my evening
TV hours by about 20% on
certain nights ! However,
Tuesday nights are sacred;
I will NOT sacrifice 'NCIS' to
ANY other activity ! It's bad enough those political puds
pre-empt it for their stinking agendas ! WHAT ?!? There aren't enough OTHER stations, time frames, or evenings you could
put that crap on, you have to
screw up my favorite TV night ?

Since, I believe it was me wanting to talk politics that started the anguish over the idea, I must say that I am too new to know all that has preceded me on FS.

Politics are one of my favorite things to talk about, but I don't want to fight about politics. There are a lot of advertisements on FS that gave me the impression that politics might be a popular topic. I will take the word of those who have responded. I have not yet read a thread where by anyone has demanded to talk politics. Even more that talking politics, I like to talk about enjoyable things, like beautiful women getting along with crotchety old men that grew up under different rules. SOOOOO, no politics from this crotchety old man.

I went fishing last Saturday at my brother-in-law's ranch. Caught four black bass in the five-plus pound range. Was not expecting to throw a line so I did not have a camera, and I do not carry a cell phone. Sorry. I just wanted you all to know that I do fish and hunt, and not just walk around admiring the natural beauty of this wonderful nation.

Go fish, skip some rocks and sleep late once in a while. Where is Dozer Dave?

DD ? I'm sure he's around here someplace; he pops in and out
on occasion ! If he senses his name being used, he'll show up sooner than later !

Good. I need to tell him about my adventures DRIVING my brother-in-law's JD 850.

Go knock down a tree, blow an engine, and have a sammich, with bologna.

Hi, volfman !
So ! You're in New Braufels, eh ?
I have a good friend in San Antonio who told me he fishes
the Guadalupe quite a bit in your area ! He hasn't been out for a while, as he was just
recuperating from his chemo when this danged virus came around ! Since he's still on the mend and his resistance has
been severely compromised, he
doesn't go anywhere that isn't absolutely necessary; his
daughter and her kids run most
of his errands right now ! I told
him that when I come to visit, I want to try that stretch of the lower Guadalupe from Canyon Lake downstream to your area
for some nice trout ! He's more
of a bass fisherman and I prefer trout in the cooler spring weather
and fish for bass AFTER the best
trouting is over for the season !

I had a fried bologna sandwich just the other evening. Yummy 😋. I used to live in Boerne. I never got to fish while I lived there, too busy working 60+ hours a week hanging garage doors. Hill country is nice. Are the cedars blowing up now?
