My adult kids were just down there and absolutely killed the trout only brought a few back though. The White River System is a great fishery as is the Norfork and Spring River areas if you get over that far east. It is a beautiful area. I hope to get down there in the next few weeks but am still recovering from my shoulder surgery. Interesting to see you were from Joliet. There are a lot of Illinois people down in Arkansas.

That is cool. My place by Flippin, Ar. is basically a fishing cabin with no central heat so we go from here in Peoria down every few weeks for maintenance. It works pretty well. I can get there in about 7.5 hours. Not bad.

Hey cueball, welcome to the forum. I always recommend that it's worth the investment to hire a guide for the first couple of fishing trips. They can show you a lot of tricks and you can then learn to modify those tricks to fit your fishing process. I'm on a NC lake and its a great way to retire. I look at the lake every morning with my coffee and decide when the weather is best suited for the kind of fishing that I do. I fish about four times a week. Good luck.
