Is there any way to save this line or should I put new line on?

The spool doesn't look too full so your problem should be line memory from being on the spool too long or casting in the wind. Untangle, cut off a bit if too curly. Like someone said be sure the line is reeled on firmly not too tight. THEN hold under hot water for a bit to remove some line memory. Spray with line conditioner or Reel Magic to reduce line twist. Spray all your reels monthly or so with the line conditioner. If this doesn't work you may have to replace with new line. Watch a u-tube video about how to respool as you can spool it backwards and it will cause you problems. Some say to put your new line spool in a bucket of warm water while spooling. U-tube is your friend. Good luck and tight lines.

Strip it about half way off the spool and refill with braid. Now and always, when in doubt, replace it. Line is much cheaper than losing a fish of a lifetime with your favorite and most expensive lure stuck in its mouth.

I bought a combo with reel spooled and had similar. Stripped most off and left some for backing for braid. Either try to untangle or strip and respool. Being new I would just replace but not with braid until you feel ok fishing. When braid first came out a lot of people were breaking rods as the very low stretch didn't give any leeway. I found just keeping the line tight most fish set the hook themselves.

If the line is new (less than 6 months old), then empty the spool until all the loose stuff is out and what's left is packed tight on the spool. What you have there is the result of reeling in line without sufficient tension to keep the line packed tightly on the spool. The "loops" also result from casting when a strand of line crosses atop the spool rather then on it. This usually results in a wad of knots in the guides on your rod. Other advice given is great also. Just make sure that there are no frays in the line. These will feel like little "spurs" when you run the line through your fingers. Cut your line when you find them otherwise, as these are weak spots in the line, chances are good the line will break if you hook a decent sized fish, or your line will break at the fray when casting; the dreaded "snap" you'll hear as your bait/lure goes flying off the Davy Jones Locker! I suspect that these Package deals don't put on high quality line. The line they put on is generally stiffer, high Memory stuff. if you decide to replace it with MONO, get soft "limp" low memory line. Be sure you wind it on the reel correctly. It is more than just tying to reel spool then cranking the handle. Many utube videos on the correct way. Also when you load your reel, don't over-fill (like I have done) because you will find that when you fill your reel it will normally be tighter on average than when reeling in while fishing thus building higher on the spool and then later you will find yourself throwing numerous loops off at the same time thus tangles.

If you wish to continue to use mono toss it as mono is dirt cheap.

Get a cold beer and a pick with a blunt point. Have a seat and work it out. Then reverse it. I use two old bicycle rims the I run the line on one from the spool. Then wind it to the other and back on the spool. I mount the rims in a 2X4 with holes drilled to put the axels in.

Mono will setup or have a memory over time. Mono left on a spool (unused) for a long period of time (not sure how long but at least over one year) will have memory and when coming off the spool will tend to come off in loops which have a tendency to tangle = MESS. When this happens, my advice to to get rid of the mono. Take the reel to an established fishing gear store, buy braided line and have them mount on your reel. Power Pro Spectra is a fiber braided line that you should consider.
