BankStalker: Don't know how any man can function without at least one, and preferably two, shirt pockets. Don't know, but western shirts may be more economical.
Ivey: Skin on my arms getting too thin. I'm near 80 yo now. Also have to be careful with my face too - pre-cancerous skin lesions from too much sun for too many years. If you get Red Head brand, try them on; their sizes run a little larger than most other mfgr's.
I got a sister that lives in Fate Texas that I stay with when I come back durin dove season. Usually there for the month of Sept. Prolly won't make it this year unless all this virus stuff is over by then.
Well Saw1, if your September trip works out, maybe we can get a day for me to take you crappie fishing.

For sure buddy. If not this Sept, for sure next year. I plan on getting together with several of the guys from Texas next time I'm there. Look forward to it.

I get mine at the thrift shops, they are expensive new and I like the old style fabric,, not the new brushpopper concrete cowboy stuff,,, or ebay is cheap. that how I get flannels in winter
I will “second” the Thrift Shop idea. I buy all my fishing shirts there; both long and short sleeve.I’ve bought Columbia, Magellan, Worldwide Sportsman, and Hook & Tackle, all for $ 4-5 ea. minus senior discount if I buy on the right day. Lol
They are always in near-new condition too.
I have about $600 worth of fishing shirts that I’ve spent less than $75 on from the thrift store. Ain’t no way I’m paying $45, $55, or $65 for a fishing shirt. I don’t know of any type of shirt that I would spend that much money on.

Hot temperatures are quickly approaching southeast Louisiana. I have several styles and several brands of fast drying, lightweight, stain free, fishing shirts, however, most of them seem to induce sweating. They don’t seem to breath well and they are anything but inexpensive. What brands and styles have y’all found to be fast drying, lightweight, stain free, and not induce sweating? Pictures and links would be extremely helpful.
Google Wick Away shirts for Artic cool shirts.

I have several that also seem to make me sweat. The ones I lean to most often are more of a light silky material.. and well vented! I usually keep an eye open in the Fall for clearance racks.. can usually get em for less than $10. Scored several on clearance last year at Tractor Supply of all places!!!

If you have access to a Sam's Club, they carry a line of Habit fishing shirts for about $16 - a good discount from retail. They feature SPF protection, venting, and moisture wicking in long and short sleeves. They are often my go-to for everyday wear. Check out the Sam’s Club website and Google Habit fishing shirts.
Bass Pro carries shirts that cool you down in the summer.

The silky type shirts are hotter than cotton; they do not let the heat dissipate.

Like all the other Simms products I’ve owned it is great quality and very functional.
Works great, very cool for a long sleeve and fit was great. I have 3 and they provide the best protection from the sun. Great shirt for keeping you protected from the sun and the bugs! These double up as great travel clothes and aren't just for the water! It doesn’t snag or pill like a lot of the brand sun shirts. Dries very fast lightweight and durable. By far my favorite warm weather fishing shirt. With the hood up, it does a good job of keep the sun (and early morning breeze) off my neck. They are a little pricey but well worth the investment to protect against damage to our skin.

Cut off tee shirts...no sleeves & loose neck...& jump in the water frequently...
I can't agree more with Robert! Long-sleeved shirts are the way to go. Suntan lotions stink, probably don't do the lakes and streams any good, and you actually sweat more because your pores don't breathe. Wear a wide-brimmed hat too!
I'm suffering from the same situation Robert is. Just got some cancers burned off my ears, sides of my face, and my arms.
A tan ain't worth it!
Haines, fruit of the loom or any other T-shirt. Light colors help.
