The Crosley was 44 C.I. 2 1/2 bore X 2 1/4 stroke, 26.5 HP. The Homelite upped it to 59/60 C.I., 2 3/4 bore, 2 1/2 stroke, 55 HP. Later sold to Fisher Peirce, marketed as Bearcat.
Good efficient engines, but very heavy, in comparison to all of the two strokes, of the day.
For 21+ years, I sold parts and service, for Crosley cars, and a few related boat engine parts, also. I'm in the process of building, 3 Crosley engines, now.
Chrysler/West Bend, had nothing to do with them, at all.

Thank You Mudbugger. I sent a PM to you. I am interested in chatting more about the Bearcat. There was a gentleman in Northern California that used to refurbish these particular Outboards but from what I can tell maybe does not anymore. Website etc is not active anymore but I think there is a phone number on it. I have not called him. The previous owner of the 16.5 Larson had an identical 55HP built by the guy in N Cal. It was stolen off this boat and is main reason he sold it to me.
