Hello everyone! Is there anyone here from Utah by chance? I haven't done a ton of fishing for 10 years now since I had my son, but my husband and I used to go all the time. Now my son has fishing fever and he is so lucky! He caught 3 huge fish just this last year, bigger than I have ever caught. So I am hoping to do more fishing now, and we are hoping to get him on the streams, we just have to find some that don't have a strong current. Anyways, I am hoping to learn some new things here and find other's who might be from Utah and familiar with any good bodies of water to fish!

So far I have found out that Summit County residents are forbidden to travel unless they are doing essential things like work, shopping and outdoor activities while maintaining a 6 foot seperation. Outdoor activities being in the essential category. I don't know about non county residents going fishing there.

I thought about going to Jordanelle yesterday, but wasn't sure if it was legal to even go there. I guess it's time to check the state parks website.

Hi Tiffy, my initial reply about the community fisheries was just a suggestion for right now. They have stocked some of the parks and people are catching fish. It's a great place to take kids and let them both practice, and catch some stocked fish.

Here is the URL to find out about those: http://www.utahfishinginfo.com/urbanponds/

I would check the stocking reports and go to one close to you that was recently stocked. These parks get fished pretty heavily when the weather is better.
Here's the URL to the stocking report: https://dwrapps.utah.gov/fishstocking/Fish

If you want to see other options, the state's fishing reports have kind of gone away, but they have an interactive map of all the lakes and many of the streams.
Here's the URL to see the map: https://dwrapps.utah.gov/fishing/fStart

I hope this all helps and you and your son have lots of fun fishing this year, and for many to come.

I was finally able to get the pics of my son's fish! He was 8 when he caught the first and second big one, and then 9 when he caught the 3rd big one. They are all at different community ponds, but still bigger than my husband and I have ever caught! LOL
