I will be very careful. They can both swim like fish (from my pool) but still. Lots of nasty stuff out there too. That's where I heard my mama pig and her babies and that's why I bought my .40. It'll be goin with me.

Thanks to all y'all. Seems like if this collective group hasn't seen much in the way of clear direction, at least for my area anyway, I'm going for it Tuesday at minimum. I have heard that McClure reservoir and Don Pedro Lake are closed. Apparently Army Corps reservoirs are still open. Will try to report back if I get turned away.

Well I'm not very techie. I put my hometown in my profile and assumed it would show up but didn't. I live in Oakhurst, CA. and typically fish twice a week for bass rotating through 8 lakes, rain, shine, heat, or cold. I'll see if I can figure out why my location doesn't show.

Your location shows up here. We used to be “neighbors “. I lived in Mariposa county for several years quite awhile back. McClure and Don Pedro were my old stomping grounds. Go wet a line and show us pictures. We love pictures. 🐠🕺

Well perhaps my ego is a little sensitive so anything under two lbs is not really picture worthy as my fishing partner and I have evolved to. I got one last week that was about two but we pretty much get them back in the water as fast as we can without pics. Prior to that, it was last summer when I got my PB shown on my profile pic. So two pics in about 10 months is a bit of a gap. So I get that we like the pics but I stopped taking them unless that internal sensor says, "Hey that's a little better fish." Hope all are well and staying safe.

P.S. The guy I fish with regularly out fishes me. He's boated some pretty good ones during that same period. So taking a pic of a one pound bass when he just boated a 5 feels a little anticlimactic.

I like catching big fish same as anyone else but I don’t mind catching 1 pound fish either way better than being skunked. And as always for me a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work. Tight lines

Takin my granddaughters out to the bypass canals east of here. Lots of catfish in there, and I've even seen a striper or two come out of there. Lots of spots also. Should be a fun time. They're 10, out of school and bored as hell. A whole lot of nothin but rice and walnuts out there. Pictures for sure.

it might be worth looking into fishing at Camp Far West Lake. At this time of the year it's self pay, self check in. There's always good numbers of catfish in that lake. Probably a lot closer for you as well.

I've been looking to find something definitive on whether or not you can fish Calif lakes/reservoirs under the "stay at home" order. I found some stuff that implies or infers that you can but no real yes or no. Can anybody out there point me to something that says, yes you can fish alone or with someone in your household?

I'm in Madera County and have several Army Corp reservoirs that I think have not been formally closed.

I've been trying to find out if any east bay parks are open for fishing, but all I get is recordings, I so want to isolate with my fishing pole, I would guess the delta is still open but could be wrong, sigh.

That is funny you should say that Jim. This past weekend my buddy and I were side by side no more than 10 feet between us in different boats. Me in my yak and he in his Sea Pro. Both anchored and tossing straight out the bow. Same baits and he is doing better 2 to 1 of mine. When he would reel in I tossed in front of his boat and would land some nice keeper trout.

2 feet off on the path the school was taking and not even a nibble. Right place right time. That's what its all about.

It's about six of one, half a dozen of the other. I go out west of the feather river out by East Nicholas. There are several very nice spots out there, if you know where to look, and there's an abundance of fish. Or at least there used to be. I haven't been out there in probably 12 years. I don't own a boat, and camp far west is best fished with a boat. I have caught some nice catfish out there in the summer time, night fishing from the bank. If they enjoy the bypass, we'll probably hit camp far west next. Also, if Natoma is still open, there are bodacious trout in that lake. Folsom also. Plenty of places to go, if you can get to them. We'll just have to see, and I'll keep you updated on what we find. You do the same?
