Is that your lure or someone else's? That would not be a legal catch in Caifornia - they have to be hooked in the mouth, or through it in the gut. No snagging allowed. Period. Where did that one come from?

I caught it legally. There’s a hook in its mouth. What you don’t see is my lure. It’s on the other side. It’s a double hook “WEDDING RING”. The hooks are stacked one right on top of the other. That’s why you see one in his lip. Thee other right next to it, under his chin. Then he starts spinning as I’m retrieving him in. He raps him self up all the way to my Dodger (the green blade you see) and beyond. He ended up drowning himself. I ended cutting all the line off to salvage my lure and dodger. So no Spirit I didn’t SNAG it. He did it all by himself.

Settle down Dave. I wasn't accusing you of anything. I didn't see the hook at first. I asked if that was your lure or someone else's.

OK. Thanks for sharing! That's why we're here. Still wondering where it came from as in what body of water up there? I have never caught a koke, but I have, I'm happy to say, eaten them.

So your rig has 2 offerings? The green lure was further up your line? Like a “teaser”?

I fish Lake Merwin for Kokanee. It’s a reservoir created on the north fork of the Lewis river in SW Washington.

The green one you see is called a DODGER. It is a attractor through vibration. As in flashers but less resistance upon retrieving. It’s tied to your main line. Than you have your leader and then you have your presentation of choice whether it be a spinner, a hooche, wedding ring. The variety is endless. Just like any other fishing lures.

Sounds like the Golden Corral Buffet for fish. NICE Deal there.

Back in the summer of 1969 my wife, and I with a friend ran a trout line one night and caught 101 channel cat fish on 100 hooks. On one of the drop lines a small fish on the hook had a much larger fish with the line wrapped around it's gills. We cleaned fish for awhile and gave them to the folks in the area that needed them.
