The cool thing is none of us have to feel like the Lone Ranger. There is more like us and it is reassuring that I can see more of you that have more than we need. It’s cool to have Reels with different strength line for different fish.

Wow! I have 36 rods with reels and an additional 4 reels. I just keep buying and buying. I no longer am able to fish offshore or even for a Cobia or large stripers. Those rods and reels are just taking up space in a closet.

Went to Wal-Mart yesterday to buy a new dip net. I caught my self selecting more lures. I haven't used any of the last 20. Forced my self to the nets and left.

I probably have in excess of 45 outfits including about a dozen fly, one ultralite, 4 surf heavers in conventional and spin, matched set of four 30# trolling rods that are acid wrapped, different size surf plugging rods gear for all of them and that doesn't count the ones I have for grands daughters and sil. And I just got the Bass Pro/Cabelas spring sale catalog . Since I'm in expand into more freshwater mode I think I might be in trouble.

My worst fear is that when I die,my wife will sell all my tackle and gear for what I told her it cost! But seriously,if sold at retail, she could buy a brand new four wheel drive pickup with all the bells and whistles, and fill the tank with premium gas.

You know what? It's like guns... you can't have too many. I keep several for kids to use when they fish my pond.... and then there is the deep sea fishing, and lake , and fly, and streams, and …. I just tell my wife I don't count your shoes!!!! Tackle boxes are another story.. well over 20!!

About a dozen fly combos, probably 30 spinning combos and not even sure how many ice fishing combos. As far as tackle, I probably couldn't give an accurate guess other than I could stock a tackle shop pretty easily. Fun part is that I still make and buy more stuff all the time. I never make just one pattern of anything. If it is something new that I have created, I will make at least a dozen patterns/colors of it, just to see which one works the best, if at all. Since fishing is really my only vice, I can get away with it, plus I buy a lot of stuff on sale and clearance. It's nice to see I'm not the only one. We need to have support group meeting, preferably somewhere where we can buy more stuff.

Hi I’m Stuco, I’m in denial. I’ve only been fishing for a couple of years, so I have less than twenty(25?) combos. You all have a problem! I’ll just read more here for support for you all.

For ME personally, you can't have too many. I have to laugh about the following. I had a guy working for me who was a great guy in my Branch. I would come back from a weekend of fishing with my Brother-in-law BILL and we would talk about it. He hadn't fished much and one time remarked when I told him how many reels I had, Why do you need so many reels. One weekend I took him Steelhead fishing with me. When He saw the very large soft foam lined pistol case completely full of bait casting reels he asked again why I needed so many. I just smiled. He took the rigged rod down at the bottom of a line of us fishermen to get used to casting before moving up with the rest of us.eventually he would get a big rats nest in his reel and I would pull out another reel from the case and rig him again. After the 4th rats nest I said, "That is Why I Have so Many Reels" LOL. He was/is a good guy and now I don't hear that question.

From where I sit right now I can see 4 combos, 1 reel waiting on a part, 1 rod with no reel. In a cabinet above my head I have 2 Zebco 33's and a fly reel. I have a combo and my fishing vest in my car (I always carry a rod and reel with me because you never know when the chance to do some fishing might happen). In my shed I have at least 7 or 8 more combos, at least 6 rods with no reels and a couple more reels.

I’m pretty sure most of us have this “problem”. But if your better half isn’t in a knot over what the heck! She knows it’s far better than my sitting in a bar or chasing skirts. Too old for the second an too smart to sit an drink an then drive. Just saying no harm no foul. Tight lines guys.

I have 17 bait cast and 5 spin cast at home all for bass fishing. I also have 4 ultra light rigs for white perch. At my camp I have 16 bait cast and 4 spin cast for bass. Red fish and speckled trout. I have 6 off shore rigs for red snapper, mangrove snapper and amber jack. I had 5 boats, but just recently cut down to 3. Way to many.
