My name is Joe from central Indiana. I’ve found bass to be preditor fish, meaning they hide under structure or in dark then pounce on their prey. A pond or lake with no trees around the bank, tells me bass will bite better in the dark or will be deep. Bait or lures what you get use to using. My favorite is a large spinner with a lead head jig with a 4” mister twister purple worm tipped with a piece of nightcrawler.

Welcome to the stage YC, If you'll go back to your profile and put in a general location and lakes you fish you'll probably get more responses.
I'm with you on the night fishing, nothing I'd rather do slow rolling a spinnerbait around points and flats, feeling the thump of the blade and then the thump of a big bass.

Welcome, try fishing something black or dark color that makes a lot of noise. Jitterbug, buzz bait, popper, frog and take advantage of the full moon.
I’m Joe (Yankee Clipper) from Central Indiana, Madison County. With-in an hour of me is several reservoirs, Geist, Cicero, Mississinewa, Salamoni, Summit Lake, Westwood Park, and Shadyside in Anderson and several private lakes around the area. ALL have Lg. mouth Bass, Crappie, Blue Gill, Catfish, some reservoirs Have Walleye and Striped Bass. Carp and Suckers are also there. White River and Wabash River are close as well as several Creeks(small mouth bass) I generally fish for pan fish or what is biting. Fished at night when I was younger(72 now), Bass and crappie. Fun to set a light(floating auto headlight) on water About 25 ft. and watch bait fish come in. Crappie and catfish are below feasting !!

Welcome Joe, full moon and top water baits can make for some real excitement
I fished around midnight till 2:00ish. Full moon lights things up a little. Fun to get at waters edge, and listen to frogs around you while you fish. There was a small in-let into a 2 acre pond. Tossing mister twister worms toward the in-let and reeling in, I caught several Lg. Mouth Bass. I released them back into the water. They were 1 1/2 lb. to 3- 4 lb.
I fished Summit Lake close to New Castle,in. For crappie. Get on water at sunset and put floating light out. Caught several crappie, had a nice fish fry later. My father in law told everyone he would only eat 2 kinds of fish. Mine and Captain D’s. If I didn’t have any to fry; it was Captain D’s.
