After an hour drive the boat would not start. Pulled it out and tried for about 10 minutes. Finely got it running and headed out of Blacks Fish Camp to catch some catfish. Well the white caps were coming over the bow so I headed back to the landing like a whipped puppy. Didn't give up. Loaded the boat and went to the hatchery where the wind was blocked by the trees. Got 5,but it took about an Hour and a half. Picked up and went in the stump field in 3 1/2 ft. of water. Got much better. Caught 11 more in an hour. Went to pick up the back anchor and it was stuck under a stump. Tried everything but it was not budging. Tied a buoy to it and tossed it over so I could get the bow anchor lose and had the same problem. Took awhile but got both in the boat and went home to clean fish. Yes I did enjoy the trip. Here are some pics.

Love the story Gordon!
Your ability, patience & persistence definitely paid off - bread'em, fry'em & enjoy'em with an icy cold beverage!

Are the red markings on the tails a sign of a recent spawn?
God Bless,
Mickey

I know that it's not nice of us but Gordon your account of your day brought a chuckle to me and my wife. I hope that we were chuckling with you now that it's a day later, because we can do identify with your day. Yep we have been there and done that!
Congrats on your catches as you earned them.

Ready for the freezer. 3 to a bag with smaller ones and 2 to a bag of the big ones. 12 bags in all. Kept two out for supper tonight.

Taking these next time. Home made grappling hooks. All stainless steel. 5/16 that will straighten out if needed. Chain hooked at bottom and ty wrapped at top so it can pop loose to bring anchor up from the bottom side. Made them for fishing at the Keys.

That's what we use for Tog fishing in the rocks up here Gordon. It sure beats damaging or losing your Danforth anchor. 👍🏻
