Thanks Al. I think being later than normal, I got ahead of the springtime skunk. LOL.
Hopefully we'll be able to find them in June brother. I'm looking forward to it. 😎👍🏻👍🏻

Had a nice little shakedown run at Beseck today. It wasn't quite as warm as yesterday and the
8-10 breeze was gusting to 15+, but I got out anyway. No luck with topwater or a swimbait, so it was Dinger time. I missed the first bite, probably early hookset. Caught a 2lb Largemouth skunkbuster, and then settled in. Caught 2 more cookie cutter males, and decided to shift gears. Pulled out the medium light, and the ultralight rods and went Crappie hunting. The blowdown trees were on fire. Caught 10 up to 1 pound or so. The wind was picking up so I picked up the worm rod one more time, and caught the big fish of the day, a 2lb 12oz chubby female. After that I called it a day.
Definitely a successful shakedown and first trip.

Thanks Steve, it was fun finally getting out. Now I can start concentrating on finding some bigger ones to wrestling with.

Thanks Greg. It's a nice little lake, before Memorial Day, and after Labor Day. In between, the speed limit is raised and the local jetskis, tubers, and waterskiers turn it into a blender.

Thanks Tpk. It was probably my best, 1st trip ever. The fact that it was 3-4 weeks later than normal, probably contributed to my success, but I'll take it.

Thanks Tim. I wanted to try slip bobbers for catching them. It was my first attempt and it worked out well. I'll be bringing those rods to the M&G for Crappie day. Actually there were a few whitecaps, but the camera doesn't capture them very well. At least we don't have any snow. LOL.
The same to you my friend. 👍🏻

I have tried the slip bobber too. What did you catch the crappie on?

2 little jigs Tim. A 1/16 oz with a green Venom plastic shad, and a 1/8oz with a clear/white Crappie Magnet plastic shad.
