Thanks Brad. I was a little trigger happy on the first bite, but I settled down after that.

Yeah, that's the disadvantage of aluminum boats. It was fun for sure.

Thanks Al. I think being later than normal, I got ahead of the springtime skunk. LOL.
Hopefully we'll be able to find them in June brother. I'm looking forward to it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Had a nice little shakedown run at Beseck today. It wasn't quite as warm as yesterday and the
8-10 breeze was gusting to 15+, but I got out anyway. No luck with topwater or a swimbait, so it was Dinger time. I missed the first bite, probably early hookset. Caught a 2lb Largemouth skunkbuster, and then settled in. Caught 2 more cookie cutter males, and decided to shift gears. Pulled out the medium light, and the ultralight rods and went Crappie hunting. The blowdown trees were on fire. Caught 10 up to 1 pound or so. The wind was picking up so I picked up the worm rod one more time, and caught the big fish of the day, a 2lb 12oz chubby female. After that I called it a day.
Definitely a successful shakedown and first trip.

Great job Fred! Good to see getting out, and you brought the crappie gear, what a bonus. We have snow on the ground this morning โ˜น๏ธ I donโ€™t see any whitecaps, lol. Have a great season.

Thanks Tim. I wanted to try slip bobbers for catching them. It was my first attempt and it worked out well. I'll be bringing those rods to the M&G for Crappie day. Actually there were a few whitecaps, but the camera doesn't capture them very well. At least we don't have any snow. LOL.
The same to you my friend. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
