That's California! They would charge for the air you breathe if they could figure out how. I fish a lot in utah. You almost never have to pay in utah, fish or launch
I'm not sayin I that I think it's OK that California charges SO much to launch/fish, BUT, how much does it cost you to GET to Utah and pay for an out of state license from Cherry Valley Ca?
How many times could you fish closer to Cherry Valley as apposed to fishin ONCE in Utah? Just Sayin.
Back when I had my boat, I fished 2 to 3 times a week. Lucky now if I get out once a week.
A non resident utah license is cheaper than a resident ca license. Most of my utah fishing is mid state. So go to the Sierra and catch a few or go to utah and catch tons. The cost doesn't bother me, I just like decent fishing. I have a utah, Colorado, Texas, and Minnesota fishing license. I don't have a California license.

Wow. Guess it would be nice to fish all those states/places.
Too bad you don't seem to have the same kinda luck fishin here in California.
We've had numerous 30 to 50+ fish days Striper fishin on the Pet or Napa rivers over the years.
We can be on the water within 30 to 45 min from home and the launch is either free or 6 bucks.
On a good day we aren't on the water much longer than 4 hours and catch that many fish.
On the not so good days we stay out longer and catch fewer fish but still have a great time.
Good luck to ya and light lines.
Unfortunately I'm in so cal. Overpopulated and overpriced! LOL tight lines to ya all tooπ

If you're ever gonna be in Nor Cal let us know ahead of time and maybe we could get out together.
I've fished Amador many times- 7 bucka for launch-- They stock that lake constantly and lots of good fishing!!! I agree that you have to pay for everything but it's not that bad- Camping is a little pricey, but good accommodations at the bar. Hogan and Melones are good up here too but you have to pay for them also. Tough to find free fishing anywhere--
