I have a 4.00 set of Berkely braid scissors. First time using them I was shocked how cleanly and quickly they cut. Had them for 2 years now.

Have been using Spider-wire for many years, but I'm not happy with it casting range. Any suggestions on what might be a better choice for 8 to 10 pound braid for my spinning reels?
I have had good success with suffix braid and power pro . However I only really cast it for any real distance is when I’m using topwater baits or glide baits . I use 40# for that situation . The rest of the time I use it for flipping . I use 50# for that . You might try getting a good line conditioner and spray your braid with it . Just give it a little soak while it’s on your reel . And spray the eyes on your rod too. Line conditioner won’t hurt them . I can’t say about the possibility of it messing up any paint on a rod, because my rods aren’t painted . I use the KVD brand . I spray it on my rod eyes, fluorocarbon line, and my braid on my topwater and glide bait rods . Does it help ? I think it does, so I will keep using it.

Next time you decide to buy a new rod, count the eyelets.
The more Eyelets, the less line slap and the farther it casts. Learned that the hard way. LOL
Only took 40-50 years or so.

This is the cheap but very efficient braid scissors I carry, 3” over all titanium and stay sharp.

Nice where did you get them?
My local tackle shop but they are on Amazon now, $3.99 like almost everything.
I bought the box of 150 thinking they’d be cr.. / garbage but hold up very well, so an inexpensive gift that holds up well!!

pro works for me never have any problem with it
Same here Whitey, I reverse spool my braid about every two years. I fish alot of structures, oyster beds, and rocks. So best to be on the safe side.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've got two reels that need new line so I'll put Suffix on one, and the V2 super slick on the on the other. Will let you all know how they work out. Thanks again everyone.
No braid here except for Peacock bass fishing in Brazil (85 LB). For local bass fishing I use regular Floro as the braid has tendency to dig into the spool should you snag especially spider wire.

There are ways to spool the line on to at least slow it down
I help a friend’s fishing reel repair shop couple hours a week.
I have to say when spooling braid, it needs to be done on a machine! (preferably a professional machine. ) You just can’t put the tension on it that you need by hand. It’s also why I flip the spool once a year. ( another post here)
Osprey:
You are so right, the tighter the better, always keep in mind while casting with a spinner or any reel the line needs some tension or it will self coil loops most the times you can just pull them out. Happens seldom, but for me it happens right when I spot a large snook or redfish under the mangrove roots:-)
But that’s fishing.
