Pickwick Lake was showing her teeth today, with all the rain we've had here in southern TN and north AL the past few weeks and 6 more inches expected over the next week they were really moving the water down the Tennessee River, it was up a good 5to 6 foot and heavy current, Made for a hard time just sitting in the boat much less catching them big brown fish. Talk about a fight, this fish burned the line off my reel a good 40 yards down river then made a quick vertical exit from the water a good 3 to 4 foot. when she broke the water that far away in this heavy current I caught myself wondering how in the world will I ever get it back to the boat. My partner for the day did an about face with the boat and the chase was on. After another big jump and a couple more runs we finally led her to the boat. Man,,, Pickwick has some really nice Smallmouth and they fight harder than any other fish I've ever hooked.
