Yeah eating the fish is fine. They also have a great trout and salmon population

Plus the lake has a great Smallmouth population. Crappie fishing can be a blast in the evening fishing from shore right in the coves at the Putah creek resort! Fish tacos in the morning!

Berryessa would be a much better choice IMHO. DD Bass, smallies, crappie, trout, salmon, catfish and carp and here is the key.... MUCH LESS PRESSURE THAN CLEAR LAKE!

I agree 100 percent. Far less fishing pressure. Far less tournament fishing. Much better camping. Far less expensive! And a much safer lake when the weather gets ugly! Clearlake, I will show up for the camaraderie, and the great food , but my boat will stay home!

We have had to many ugly experiences on the lake when it gets ugly especially in spring! Many days where we never bothered launching.! Plus I know having fished with u many times you know Clear lake like a book! Try fishing the lake during a tournament week, you will not find a place to stay and will spend hours at the ramp trying to launch!

I think berry rasa would be an awesome choice too: I’ve never actually fished there but did a lot of waterskiing in my younger days…
