In 1861 Fig Newtons were created in Newton Massachusetts thus starting a cookie trend for nearly 162 years.
There have been many copies yet the original still exists.
I too love them and will put some in a baggy when on a long road trip.
Yeah sometimes in my pocket they will get a little smashed, but I don't care, they still taste great.
So Papa next time you have Fig Newtons eat one for me.
