Nice fish. You’re fishing at night? Is that something you do a lot?

Thought I was going to get skunked tonight then I land this monster. 8.49 pounds & 24.5” long. Felt like a 10 pounder. The mouth was huge. This bass snapped my new Lews Medium Heavy Lazer HS Speed Stick which sucks but i’ll sacrifice a rod to catch bass like this anytime. This bass was caught with a Strike King Rage Bug Magnum playing the bottom.

Beautiful fish, congrats on the PB. Apparently you’ve been a good boy this year, no lump of coal for you!

Great catch Tex! They may replace your rod depending on circumstances. Regardless she's a hog! My PB when I lived in Austin was 24" 7.5 pounds third weekend of July at a night tourney on Lake LBJ. She would have been heavier if not for the heat. Congrats!

Congrats TW. Hope there are many more to follow her. Getting about that time of year for the ladies to start putting on a few lbs. for their dance around the nests. I fish the Highland Lakes chain in the Hill Country and we are looking forward to some good luck this coming year after the droughts and floods have taken their toll. Thanks for the "pick me up" report and again, well done sir.

Sweet toad, TW! Congrats.
I need to haul my yak up to the metroplex and hit the graveyard shift with you. Tough sledding on Rayburn yesterday...my bag didn't add up to that gal. But after a month off the water it was great to be back at it.
