In my world there is no place better than the Willamette valley inn Oregon. I can drive 90 minutes in any direction and be at the coast, the high desert, the Cascade mountains, the milder more dense rainforest of the coastal mountains, I get over the counter tags for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, or halibut plus over the counter tags for elk, black tail deer. Also some of the best duck and goose hunting in the country. The winters are mild. The summers are tolerable and the spring and fall or the best times of year.

My son and his family live in Hillsboro, and he will agree.

Hello stagers,
Here a subject that I hope will get a varied response from everyone.
Where in the United States is the best place to live.
I'll leave this post open until Christmas eve.

In reality the best place is home. You can travel all over the US and say this place or that place was real nice and I could live here or I could live there. But then you get back home and the first thing out of your mouth is "Home Sweet Home". How good it feels to be back home!! The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

I agree with you. My 78 year old hunting and fishing buddy used to say same thing and it I fully agree. So when sone tell us how much the West Coast sucks I just figure …. Let em think that. We got enough here.

Yeah I need to say the same. I was in Twin Falls last Summer and never found much but I know there are lots of places to find them. Clear Creek Lodge was a hoot to stay a few nights at.

Well my personal favorite because I live there for 40 years until I got married and moved to North Carolina. I found it living in North Carolina is more of a grind, there's too many haves and have not's that live here in this drug pandemic eaten up part of the country is the worst I have ever seen, I mean it, it's worse than in the 69's, 70s and '80s generation and that reaches all the financial and age groups. The thing I love most about living in Texas was the wide openness, it was easy and relatively cheap to find property with structures on it and put a little elbow grease into it and some materials and build you a home, if you've got good skills like I did I made a real good earning in my furniture restoration business but down here in North Carolina they want to tax you to death and regulate everything to the point that you can't afford to live a decent life. No I'm just able after this second surgery and if I had the financial means to I pack up everything I go I'd moved back to Texas. I know where all the good fishing holes are, I know where the buildings are I can open up walk right back in there run a few ads and make $100,000 a year or more take home money. Oklahoma is another place that I know well and you can go into those small towns don't matter to me if they're ghost towns or not as long as you know where the bigger cities are and have access to get to it you can live just fine. You can find houses all over the place for just a few thousand bucks for people have just died off and the kids have no interest in coming back or maintaining it. There's some parts in Texas Oklahoma and other areas people are just friendlier and that makes a big difference in neighbors helping neighbors if you needed a hand doing anything after a storm or lost a loved one people were all over you trying to help. It's the people that makes a place worth living not the objects are the night life crap I couldn't careless about.
Well my personal favorite because I live there for... (show quote)

I agree that some places are dirt cheap to buy into. There is a reason for that. More power to you if you want to live there but the reason some places cost more is several reasons.

To put Hawaii’s weather in Montana would make Montana cease to be. I grew up in south central Montana and as far as best places to live it is my ideal. If my body could stand the extremes I would go back, not just for the environment but for the people. Montana people are incredible. Actually though the best place to live is just wherever you are. Be happy where you are you are blessed to have life!!

I agree.

Hello stagers,
As promised I would give you the answer as to where the best place to live in the United States.
First off a need to apologize to you all and admit that it was a trick question.
You see weather someplace is the best or the worst place to live is entirely up to your perspective.
It is your option. It belongs to you and no one else.
I've visited a lot of great places and met the most wonderful people.
To me Lafayette indiana is home. I've lived here for nearly 65 years and all in the same neighborhood of where I grew up.
So the best place to live is where your heart is.
To everyone have a very blessed Christmas.

Believe it or not, Cleveland, Ohio! We always seem spared from all the major weather events.Temperatures are not extreme, mostly mild winters. Plus we have Lake Erie to fish for walleye, streams to catch big steelhead, and enough inland lakes too. Also lots of pro sports teams.
