As well as the Bahamas and Cook I lands.
Wow TS70, that's quite a resume. Congrats on your achievement.
And I thought I fished a lot!!!!!!! Hope you have more good fishing in 2024.

I fished a little as a kid but really only started fishing about six years ago. I go as often as I can. I try to go year round. I love fishing through the ice, from the bank, I have three one man pontoons and a fifteen foot aluminum boat, but haven’t had any of them out for a couple years. My favorite fish I’ve caught have been wipers, I guess they’re called hybrids other places. I like fishing alone, but have found I really like taking people out that either haven’t ever fished, or it’s been a long time since they’ve been. I think sometimes i get more joy helping other people catch fish than catching them myself. Since I started ice fishing five or six years ago, I’ve introduced dozens of people to that craziness. I mostly fish for trout, but have a desire to catch as many species as I can with as many techniques as I can. I didn’t add any new species this year, but hope add three or four in 2024.

What's your favorite fish to fish for?
What's your favorite time of year to fish?
You prefer to fish alone or with a partner?
You don't have to answer all the questions.
Just would like to hear some answers from some of y'all. Thanks.
As if you didn't know, I prefer to fish for Stripers.
Spring and summer are nice but I think fall might be best.
I prefer to fish twice a week but have fished as many as 3 to 5 times a week when I had my own boat.
I use to fish bout 150 + days a year.
Now I'm lucky if its 40 days a year.
I think I prefer to fish with a partner, but don't mind if it's by myself either.
Look forward to seeing your answers. Thanks.🤠👍

Probably fish 3 or 4 times a week since I’m retired and have some pretty productive waters quite close to home. Love to fish for stripers down in Jersey during the spring and fall for inland stripers on Beltzville as well as smallmouths and salmon on Lake Ontario. Can’t pick any particular species that are favorites, I thoroughly enjoy them all. I guess I target mainly crappies and gills, simply due to their abundance so close to home. The tug is the drug.

Good idea for the questions.
My weekly times out fishing vary depending on how much free time I have that week and the weather.
Was out fishing around 30+ times this year.
I fish both salt and freshwater and do not have a favorite species to fish for, more so it depends on where I want to fish and what is biting at that location-time of year, but I have not trout fished in many years.
I enjoy fishing the most from spring to fall. Spring and fall are the best catching for me in freshwater and summer for saltwater, but I usually only go saltwater fishing in the summer.
I prefer to fish with a family member, but they have more stringent work schedules than I do and are not readily available to go fishing when I am.

This was my first year retired, so I fished 4 to 5 times a week. Usually for 2-3 hours at a time. In the early morning. Early spring to mid summer. Then I tried early fall, but no luck really catching anything. I like fishing alone, for the peace and quiet, and able to take in the full experience of what Mother Nature has to offer. Smallmouth and pike are my favorite. I prefer to bake my fish, to get the full flavor of the fish.
This is a hard question to answer. How many times? It differs but probably more than that the average. I guess I don’t really have a favorite fish to catch I guess it is what I am fishing for that day. Favorite Time of the year would be throughout spring because it’s spawning time. It starts with sauger in March and ends with gills in may ( other than the cats in June). I like company except when I musky fish.I do a lot of shore fishing for them and most of my spots they are only room for one to stand.
I fished 4 times this year. 2 on extended trips and two sole & crab trips. My wife's stroke has kept me home so I only got out when I could plan and set up someone to stay with my wife so that I could get a break. I expect this year will be better as she is getting around better and can be left on her own long enough for me to go back to day trips. As soon as the duck season closes and some of the local lakes open back up for fishing, I will again be out on the water.
As for favorite fish, I love targeting any species I have not yet caught. As for fish I still have access to, pike in fresh water and Pacific halibut in salt water. Back in the day, I loved catching big blue's on the East Coast. My favorite fishing of all times, was both jigging and trolling outside of Magdalena Bay in Mexico. Hard strikes, surface strikes, great fights and great variety both trolling outside from a sail boat (sails down) and casting from the inflatable along the beach. I was going to move there for the winters until the political world went into the dumpster.

Great topic Saw. I try to fish a few times a week but depends on what is going on lol. I like to fish for crappie mostly and from late winter to late fall depending on the weather of course. I like to fish with other people but I do like to fish by myself some. Going to try more trolling next year. My boat is set up for down riggers and I have one for each side I didn't get the weights or clips with my boat so I'm going to be checking them out an see what size weights I need. Good luck out there 👍

Well let's see. I am the OldBassGuy so that takes care of what I target. I usually fish one or two days a week and average 40 trips a year. Best time for me is Apr/May as that is when I catch the bigger fish. This past year I fished 41 times and caught 210 fish with 204 being LMB's. Next year I plan to fish more in quest of my DD. At my age, not so sure how much time I have left to get that "FISH"
I try to get out a couple times a week from early spring until it gets too hot in the summer. I also fish through the fall weather, and do not fish at all in the winter. I like to fish for LMB, but also like to have a crappie fry once in awhile. My wife doesn't fish, but she loves going out on the boat and seeing the wildlife and she is with me 99% of the time when I fish.

Hi Gordon! Yes, things are going well and hope they are for you as well! Read the forum everyday, but have to admit that I am not the best at responding to posts. I need to work at getting better at that!
