If you have ever driven this stretch of road have you, or anyone you know been cited for speeding there?

Doesn't matter how fast you go, someone will want to go faster.

Back in the 60s I was stationed in Munich Germany Mcgraw Kercene when the 911S came out. Being a 1st Lt the dealership let me take one out on the Autobon. I got it up to 145 mph before I let off the gas. It was still increasing but the road got so narrow felt like I was driving on a piece of thread. Ain't driven that fast since. Anybody got any simular experience?

Back around 2002 we were keepin my daughters Jetta for her before she could take it with her up to Ft Lewis Wa.
I was drivin it back and forth to work and one night I wanted to see what it could do.
I got on it and had it up to 140 but a stop sign was comin up at a dead end T intersection and I had to shut her down. I still had another gear to use but didn't have the road to use it.
Still wonder what the top end would have been on that car.

By the way Garey, that's the fastest that I've ever driven.

Didn't George Carlin say something like that a long while back.

I was stopped in Montana and I told the trooper I thought Montana didn’t have a speed limit and he said that’s not true it’s a speed that’s safe and prudent and that’s actually on the welcome to Montana signs.

140 is my tops also. I did that 3 different times, once in my Monte Carlo SS454, once on a Golwing motorcycle, and once in a 68 Corvette 427 dual 4barrels. I think that's as fast as my guardian angel can fly and I didn't want to push it. The Corvette still was pulling hard at 140 but I ran out of want to. Still would like to go to Bonneville Salt flats and go 200.

I was very willin to see how fast that car could go but just didn't have the road for it.
Too many cops around for me to try it on another road. I would have found one for sure bout the time I found the top end of the car.

Texas Tollway 130 used to have 90MPH signs between San Marcos and I-10 East of San Antonio. Not sure if they still do.

Hwy 95 out of Las Vegas going to Reno has an unposted stretch, no speed limit, and watch out for wild animals, mainly mules.

The fastest I have ever been was in a Jet. Close to 600KPH. Fastest in freefall, 180 to 200 Knots.
On a motorcycle, I'm a little over 130MPH. Suzuki 750. I was 17; that explains it. LOL

SIL stopped over to show me his new car!! It was a Lamborghini!! Don’t know which model. We pulled out of my driveway and navigated the “S” curves and hit the straight way! Using the paddle shifter on the steering wheel, we were doing a buck fifty in seconds! Holy Crapoly! We turned around and headed back. He hit those “S” curves, speed limit, 45, at 80! Holy Crapoly! Kinda amazing screaming along at like 3 inches off the ground!

Steve, it sounds like this should have been your shifter knob.

In 1988 we followed my aunt from San Antonio to Rock Port Texas there was nothing but a one stop convenience store between San Antonio and our destination I like to have come and glued when I seen that 90 mph sign..That's the highest posted speed limit in the United States I've ever seen. And I know for a fact unless they change it. The Wichita Falls to Oklahoma City on the turnpike was 80 mph but highway patrol are all over it so, you better be doing 80 not 81 82 or 83

Yep, that bout sums it up.
Had I stayed in Texas and not joined the military in '71 I might have ended up there.

Congratulations BD! You are well on the way to a speedy title of Master Of The Highway.
The the Texas Department of Transportation did change the speed limit from 90 to 85, as if that makes any difference, on Interstate 130, a toll bypass around Austin Texas
It is now the fastest posted speed limit in the contentinental United States. I'm not sure but I think American Soma has one higher, but again I'm not certain.
Good job Black Dog,
