Just bought our first fake tree. Daughter got it on Amazon, got a great deal. The tree is absolutely beautiful. Get to set it up early, not worried that it will dry out to soon. Although we miss the scent of a fresh tree, we bought some pine branches and pine scented candles. My parents couldn’t believe that it was a fake tree! An eight footer here was over a $120 bucks. Plus my dogs don’t want to pee on it!!!!

Beautiful

I remember as a kid we always had a real tree. After Christmas we took it down but left the stand on I'd. We took it outside and hung popcorn we had strung on some thread for the birds. That was our tradition growing up.

We always had a real tree when I was a kid but back then they were only like 12 bucks

Just a fun survey.

I will start with 3 fake ones in our house.

Plum
Fake—-As soon as they made fake trees that looked real I bought one.
One of the tasks I’ve always hated is putting the lights on the tree. With the fake tree it’s good to go.
The last year that we had a real tree we bought one that looked fresh and turned brown after one week. The tree guy gave us another but I had to put the lights on it twice in one year.

We use a real tree. For years we bought a potted tree and then replanted it. But age has caught up with me and it is too much work. We use a cut one now. Love the smell and in our area still under $50. Merry Christmas to everyone on the stage and a healthy, happy New Year

We do a fake tree about 7 feet tall. Wife also positions about twenty other small and smaller trees around the house. To get that Christmas tree smell, she uses fir branches throughout the house for decoration.

Much daughter is married to a Coast Guardsman and are stationed in Kodiak, Alaska. We were there last year for Thanksgiving. Day after we went to a cut your own tree farm. Snow on the ground (a treat for wife and me being from South Alabama), hundreds of trees to look at and trying to keep up with 8 & 5 year old granddaughters with hot cocoa after made a great afternoon.

Awesome picture you just painted in my mind Wolf with the Alaska trip.

In regards to the 20 trees, you would make my wife smile. There was a time we did 14, it was like coming home to a Christmas village. Now days just 3 and a 4' out on the deck so technically 4. There is room for one on the front porch so guess there will be one there next year.

Back then we just went into the woods and cut one down, no money paid.
