Always do one real. Love the smell but haven't been inspired yet to get one. Stopped to look one place, 3ft tree $30 5-7ft $70. Covid gave everyone excuses for being greedy and I've always been "frugal." Will look this week.
Unfortunately more bad news. The music director I have been the contractor for brass with at the big church in Morristown , is moving to Nashville. Says the church doesn't have a budget for music anymore. So, no Christmas jobs or Easter services anymore. My luck sure has taken a dive this year!!!
Overall still have an optimistic outlook that a good opportunity will present itself.

Grew up playing in church for nothing, guess I'll be going back to it! Thankful I was given this gift and enjoy sharing it!

Depends where I'm at. Washington, the evergreen state, it's real. California, the golden state, it's fake.

Coolest tree I've ever seen was in a house that had a huge picture window in front side of it. They bought a fresh tree, must have been 25 to 30 feet tall, cut probably 7 feet off the top. They then mounted the lower portion centered in the window and the top part on the roof, aligned with the part in the window. Look like the tree had grown through the roof. Never seen one like that before or since.

This year will be our first fake tree in the last 25+ years.
Before now, I’ve always went out and found a small, well shaped cedar, and cut it down and trimmed it. This year, Myrna didn’t want me “trompin’ around in the woods”, so we got a small table-top size fake tree. She always decorates the tree as I watch.

In Livingston Manor [fly fishing capitol of NY] there was a brewery that had a tree growing right in the center of the place. Really cool.

Same reason for me. My daughter chokes up walking next to a pine.

I itch from the pine needles. Some kind of allergy there I guess.

Fake one for the first time ever. Cost last year was $80 for a 5 ft. tree and Kathy bought a fake one before last Christmas. Didn't open it till this Christmas and she's not real happy. Just not the same

The real advantage of a fake tree is that I don't have to put the lights on it. I just put it in a closet I built for it in the basement.
