That is probably the most common way of celebration. Christmas certainly is a time with family. I feel for those, who over time, can not celebrate as previous times because of their losses. Holidays as such, that were family time, definitely become stressors.

Yes, my heart goes out to those who have lost family during the Holidays. In 2019, my sister-in-law fell into a coma after surgical complications the week before Christmas, and we spent the Holiday struggling to come to terms with what her quality of life would be like if we kept her on the machines. It was the most difficult decision I have ever been a part of. This is the first year we have decorated our house since.

I wish peace and joy for everyone during this season. Believe what you believe, and celebrate (or not) however you want to.

Nope. I'm a non-believer, and I celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday. All the carols, a tree, decorations, and time with family.

Thanks for your reply crog and I hope you and the family have a good holiday. You and I share different views of the day but we share the common like of this site.

So tight lines to you on your next venture out.

Just read your other post, you have my utmost condolences on the loss of your loved one. I loss my Brother-in-law 9 years ago this time of year and my sister still in the grief mode. So you are doing well getting back in the spirit now.

I absolutely believe, but I have not celebrated Christmas since 2020 when my wife passed away for the simple reason that December 25 was our wedding anniversary as well. Just too hard to celebrate without her.

Hello BCMECH1,
I read your entry here about 6 times and tears came to my eyes each time. I just have to share something with you. I hope you don’t mind. My wife passed away on thanksgiving day 22 years ago. It was devastating. We had been married 29 years. For 4 years I was right where you are. Same thoughts same dislike of all the holidays including Christmas and New Year. After the fourth year my son who was 23 years old and my daughter who was 31 years old sat me down in October and told me that they understood that I loved their mom very much and so did they. They also told me that it was killing both of them that we were not celebrating the holidays for what would be the fifth year. They said they had enough. They told me their mom loved the holidays and in her honor they were celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year in the upcoming season. They asked me to participate because nearly five years of grieving was enough. They were doing this in her honor and because of her love for all of us and the holiday season. We are Christian’s and fully believe in Jesus Christ. I said I would try since they were so passionate about celebrating. I did the whole thing carrying out all the traditions my wife absolutely loved. BCMECH1, it was the turning point in my life. I felt like she was right with us in church, at the dinners and even at the present opening. We did this in her honor and we all loved it, enjoyed it and honored her at every turn. I was a new man and felt so close to my wife. Yes I cried yes I was a bit sad but I felt her presence right with me. It was a feeling of closeness with her I had never felt since she died. I hope telling you my story may help you to at least consider trying to honor your wife by celebrating this holiday and very special Christmas season. May God bless you and you will be in my prayers. Merry Christmas to you.

I had to reread the thread to make sure but what’s your example of someone being run down here I must of missed it

I think the question should be, “Who is doing the running down, here?” It looks obvious by his post, that you referenced above…

Speaking of running down, his remark to band religious post, how low can one go.

Why does he read them if he is against them? I purposely put the thread in the CC to reach the good people on here no matter their beliefs on what the Topic is.

Jeremy if you answer back, please stay with the Topic and not your personal grief of religion on the CC.

My question is, why would anyone who CLAIMS to be a Christian, want to ban religion from the forum chit chat? Some posters have some ‘splainin’ to do!

It takes more than proclaiming you’re a Christian, to make you one.
If you claim to be a giraffe, it doesn’t mean you ARE a giraffe!
Many people who attend church every week, think that makes them a Christian - no more than living in a garage makes you a truck! 🙄

I think what Saw is saying is jews don't believe jesus was the messiah. They are still waiting for the messiah.
Not teading, but pointing out a difference in religions beliefs.

Easy answer:
What has changed is, in the Old Testament, there were no Christians.
It all happened before Christ even came to earth.
They were first called “Christians” at Antioch, in the book of Acts. (which is in the New Testament)
I hope this helps answer your question.
BTW Most Jews, other than the Messianic (those who believe Jesus is the Messiah) Jews, STILL do not accept Jesus as The Messiah. For more information, read your Bible…. 🙏🏻
PS: You DO KNOW that Jesus is a Jew;
right?

LOL. By his post,
he apparently really doesn’t know too much about the subject of Jesus. I was just trying to teach him a little bit …

I believe you are a good Christian Man , but you are forcing your beliefs on the Man ! Better that you direct your drama towards me , that way Ed can concentrate on his Family ! It's not that hard to understand Sir?! You have no power or words over anyone here on Stage Sir,,
