Sweet! Iā€™m fishing Lake Erie next week, at Erie.
What bait did you use?

I was using crappie spreaders with minnows because I was targeting perch. If your targeting walleye guys are trolling bandits, perfect 10ā€™s, husky jerks and other similar crank baits. 1.5-1.8mph 50-60 back.

Congrats, great eating. I dip mine in egg and then Panko. I use lemon pepper and fry them in small bite size pieces ( 1" x 1"). Don't forget the cheeks, they are delicious and easy to harvest.

Talking cheeks,,,, I watched some guys cut up a halibut and the first thing he did was cut the cheeks out. they were huge!

Was a drizzley rainy day, I got out of work early, Canā€™t tuck point in the rain. I figured the fish were already wet I may as well give it a shot. Hit the ramp at Edgewater 2:45. Air temp 46 water at 42.6. Rain stopped. Went to my same spot off the west lighthouse. Fishing by 3:00 first perch at 3:20. Second at 3:30 third fish was the smallest walleye Iā€™ve ever caught. Reeled him up slow and luckily he swam away! After that I caught one perch about every 15 min till I had 8. It was just after sunset and I picked up my right hand side rod after a few small taps. Wow it was heavy!! Thought I either have a double, a sheepshead or nice walleye. Luckily for me it was the walleye. After a short battle on an ultra light rod I netted my new PB walleye!!! Measured in at 27&1/2 inches weighing 6&1/2 pounds. I gave it another 1/2 hour then called it a night. Back to the launch by 6:00

Where you at in the great state of OHIO? Thereā€™s plenty of ones bigger than that out there. Fish are being caught in good numbers off Huron and west in 40ft.
