Not sure ElSalto is the best lake. Personally I would like to go to Baccarac. Largest fish 19+ and many between 6-12. Don’t get me wrong I would gladly fish 7-8 of the notorious lakes in Mexico but if it’s a one shot deal I would research season going etc to find best opportunity for big fish. Been eyeing it up for awhile. 5 days fishing w guide, 3 meals unlimited drinks about $2600. Plus flight. JMO

Three buddies went there a couple of years ago. They brought there own tackle bags and rods. While going through customs in Mexico a government dog alerted to one of their bags. He used the bag several weeks prior for a hunting trip, Dog alerted for gun powder. They were held for over 24 hours and missed two days of their scheduled trip! Had to eat all their reservation fees. Be careful what u wish for!

All these places have good fishing, good boats, good food, very good organization, they are very safe, they are made for US fishermen and it is easy to contact them and make all the arrangements online and they fulfill everything they offer you, I am a fisherman and I go several times a year, I live two hours from Lake Guerrero but it doesn't have good fishing nor is it very safe
