Greg…one of my classmates from 1965 and most of us stay in touch. Actually we have a mini get together annually and a “biggie” every 5 years and at the last biggie we had 42 attend, 35 classmates out of 87…I retired from practice in September 2012 and then did a stent as a Federal Consultant for 5 more years…
I was whining and crying about how my younger clientele were a tuff crowd as they were constantly looking at their cell phone and contradicting what ever I was attempting to explain?
Her comment was that the youth and younger generations had No Respect, No Civility, and No Shame…I thought that covered everything but today on my list I’m gonna add No Common Sense…
Selfishly, Dana and I had no children, so it’s difficult for me to understand how they get along as the majority have an Entitlement mentality. I really think I briefly had that also but my Dad changed my thought process with a belt while leaning over a bed???
Thanks for your post as it was spot on…

So true there daniel. With todays technology it would be so easy to have phones inoperable when a vehicle is running.

Not only that, but vehicle kill switches factory installed in various locations would be so simple.

But NO, It all comes down to $$$$$$$$ going in someone's pocket.

yes Plumbob and the only ones are the 1 percenters getting rich. Only chance we have is getting hit by someone talking or texting and suing them for a million dollars. My luck they couldn't pay or just wouldn't.

The non beliebers as well as the believers have spoken. Time to get back on board with a good topic.

Why do you get to copy something from the attic and post in Chit-Chat ? Somebody is totally wrong & their name is Carl and Randy

The things we knew and valued are not gone but have changed. Some for better most, as us older folks think, for worse. There are values which are or at least seem to be timeless. Kindness, Manners, Boundaries, A person’s word, Listening, Not Judging, Respect and most of all Love. It appears many of these values have been swallowed up by Selfishness and Greed. Many of us have lived long enough to have seen it all. I think many of us grew so tired of the constant attack on goodness that we just retreated partly for self preservation, partly for impotence in the face of the overwhelming power of moneyed folk driving the attack. We are frail, we are human and we are flawed. We are also strong, we are good, and we live to serve those we love. There is HOPE!!

Truer words have never before been spoken on this site. Thank you, Greywulff. I have long admired your forthrightness, and often obscure, but 'spot on' wit.

This particular thread has been rather revelationary, in that some of the observations of others, some that I would not have expected, but certainly welcome, that have spoken out on this judgemental parse that seems to have wider observance than I could imagine.
My personal diatribe with Randy is well-known, if you have been on the forum very long. Kinda sad, since we went to high schools not far from each other and he lives in Lawrence, where my sister lives today.
His defamatory statements (several times, aimed directly at me, and a couple of times, actually at my late United Methodist minister Father !) have long been the bane of my participation in this forum....a most un-Christian behavior by Randy, to be certain.
To constantly harp on folks for not embracing YOUR RELIGION AND WORLD VIEW, is simply narcissistic and narrow minded....nothing less, nothing more.
I thank those that were perfunctory in their stances against such....bigotry......let's call it what it is.

I have memories of when the subjects of the opening of this thread were of the utmost importance among "men of worth", merely in order to maintain normal civility. That would be my "wish we could go back" thought. But obviously we cannot.

So we adapt, accept others' "failures of our mind's-eye expectations", and above all, continue to strive to be the loving, hopeful, "honest to the point of recklessness" people, that we not only wish to be, but are in fact, actually ARE.

Good luck to us all.

Holy Moly. I wish Randy would understand how true and real this statement is. It’s so true and good advice. Rodney King even said it.

“ why can’t we all just get along “?

Why does RH bring his self made battle onto the public chat?

A good buddy at work use to always say if someone claims they are a Christian so never worry about doing business with them. He said don’t think twice about doing any business without a written contract… probably want it notarized.

Yours truly always plays this game buddy. I think Chit Chat should ban the religion just like politics but not because none of us have any religion but because it’s controversial and too much self righteous people surround it.

So you asked when you tried to play boss and here it is again. Here is your imaginary authority you always think you have. Who cares about if someone believes or not. Fishingstage shouldn’t be where you and others play god. Judging others as being a believer or not because they don’t want to be ridiculed publicly doesn’t mean they don’t believe.
