Well if you remember or saw my post last week of me filling my tag I mentioned of trying to help my dad get his buck. I attached a pic of a big spilt brow buck. This time of year things can change daily as the we get closer to the rut. That being said this other buck showed up Tuesday and while dad was on stand he watched from a distance them shoving each other around pretty heavily. Forward to this morning we had a heavy rain so I went around 11:00 checked cameras and saw the new buck heading into bedding area. Called dad told him Iβd bet heβs be back thru same way he went in this morning and he came right back around 5:30 and my dad made a great shot and deer expired quickly in about 75 yards. Real dandy 5x6 or 11 pt however itβs a stud

Congrats to a beautiful buck .
Here on the west Coast we would call that a 6x5 and we count the eye guards.
Wish our deer π¦ got that big here in California. Biggest body deer that I have shoot in California was 140lbs field dress.
Glad you and your Dad have got some good eating Backstraps π
Are you only aloud 1deer a year or can you shoot more here we can shoot one with a rifle and and one with a bow.

Ohio is one Buck per year. Then the amount of does you can harvest is based on what county the deer are harvested from. Not sure how many is allowed by him but around me the deer are considered urban and you can harvest up to 5 die I think. Or at least thatβs how many 12 years ago when I last hunted.

Sad thing in California we can't shoot Does π’ only if you draw a eighter sex tag for Archery.
And rifle a Buck has to at least have a fork on one of the horns Spicks you can not shoot.
And we our over ran by does.
Have a great week.
Going Duck hunting next weekend for the opener.

Yes
But if the thurth be known California would to Band hunting.
We have a Mountain Lion π¦ problem and we will have a Bobcat π problem.
Two years ago they banded Bobcat hunting and 30yrs ago the Mountain Lion π¦.
And 3yrs ago the banded lead shot for upland game hunting !!
And big game hunting also 7yrs a go or more had to resight all my Deer π¦ rifles..
The reason to save the Condors from getting lead poisoning when they eat a gyt pile of a deer π¦
Not making this up !!
Have a good season
