I'm worried about all those chemicals stinking up the bag. Wouldn't it then be bad for fishing to place lures and other tackle into that bag? Wouldn't it spook the fish to sense petroleum-based chemicals?

You're right grizzly blaster is the best but I would considering the smell and WD-40 I've heard people even use it on bait for the smell πŸ˜‚

KG, you put your bait in a plastic box inside the bag I don't see where it's going to have any effect on the fish smelling the lures, Bass pros having a big sale going on right now might just have to go and buy you some new fishing equipment πŸ‘

I think if you'd use a small amount on the zipper it wouldn't hurt anything.

I've gotten on my hands a a couple washes it's gone.
Spray some reel magic on it to cover spray scent

I am committed to WD 40. If you get them to work, use it on regular basis, if you end up replacing them or the bags use WD 40 a few times per year and you probably will not have further problems. Good luck.

I haven't fished in a few months. Just noticed that one of our fishing bags is ruined. Lots of corrosion on the sliders. Can't open the zippers. Sliders are fused. Any way to fix this?

I tried fresh water and some vinegar on it. Didn't work.

That's a easy fix, buy a new bag.

You might try salt away.
After you get it loose rub the whole zipper with paraffin or candle Wax .

Good idea Norman.
Used it on my gear when I fished salt or tidal water.

After you get the slider working again a cheap solution for the zipper is to rub a candle on it.

I ended up buying a new bag. It's not that expensive, and the amount of work it would take to fix is just too much compared to the cost of getting a new one.

Soaking in vinegar and oil and other common methods didn't work. Anything more advanced is just not worth doing.

They do offer warranty for two year replacement for new purchases. I'm thinking maybe I should get that.

Sometimes that's the best thing to do
