I always thought it was state by state Fred am I right? Is this the first time they came up with federal regulation for striper?

Not any more JD, the fed has stepped in, and some would say overstepped. Actually, in 2020 they passed the Circle hook only, when using bait, law for Stripers on the East coast.

Wow, that is a lot of Egrets. I've never seen that many together either.
Nice catch from the boy. Were y'all able to keep it. We just have an 18 inch minimum, 2 fish limit out here.
Supposedly they are goin to a slot limit here for next year. We'll see.

Hey Saw… move up here to Oregon…no size limit, no possession limit, no closed season…..I will hook you up!

Thanks for the offer brother, but I can catch all the fish I want/can and I don't need to keep any more than 2 apiece.
Maybe I can come visit sometime though.🤠👍

That wasn't really the first time Fred. When they had the total shutdown down back in the 80s it was fed also. I fact this why you STILL can't fish for atripers outside the three mile state limit in NJ.

That's true Jimmy, I forgot about that. I was fishing for Blacks, Blues and Fluke back then.

I was raising two girls and paying off my mortgage more than fishing. My surf fishing, my brother's too, was pretty well limited to 2 or 3 days a year.

Went to local pier last night to catch out going tide. Heard from friend some big fish starting to move south. My oldest son landed one and I had one break off. Better days ahead! Saw large flocks of Egrets gathering in some trees nearby. Never saw so many at once, attached video. Good night!

A real nice smile and great catching, congratulations to your son,
