Trilene XT with a wire leader. The XT resists rock's, wood and weeds and the wire resists the teeth. A friend hooked and landed a nine pound pike on six pound line but he (the friend) was in a boat. It took him almost half an hour to land it and he had to beach the boat twice when that pike went into the weeds. He wasn't using anything special for a leader. He was lucky. I landed a two foot long tiger musky on six pound line but my lure was close to shore when I hooked that fish. Luck played a big role. Can't depend on luck but a wire leader and XT works.
