Jess A have you thought of a trolling motor for your kayak for those kind of days? I am leaning towards that purchase in the spring just for the long hauls. I like the stealth method vs a motor when I approach my target.
*dies laughing because she can’t even afford a real fishing kayak, only an inflatable kayak and a p.o.s. sun dolphin Phoenix 10.4 she can’t even lift by herself ortransport because of not having a roof rack or trailer hitch on her Ford Escape*
I am so sorry for writing that but it is a huge stressor for me right now not being able to have the fishing gear and kayak that I want due to how financially in the red my husband and I are desperately trying to fix.
Honestly Bob, would love to tell you that I could even consider the pros and cons of having a motor for my yak, but I own garbage, that I am considering buying a youth 6 ft sot;(because that is the most I can handle carrying by myself due to my short, handicapped-@$$ and stuff it in back of my suv); and figure out how to trick it out to become a fishing kayak, complete with bells and whistles. I can jerry rig anything so I am actually hopeful that it will actually work.
But with no local fishing mentors, family or any friends close by that could pass me handmedowns, I am S.O.L.
I need a fairy fishing father lol
