I watched a older fellow come down to the dock carrying a little 5 foot pole a tackle box a lunch box in hand along with a folding chair. Put his line in and sat there smoking his pipe. He caught 2 trout in about half an hour nothing to big or to small he kept them not at All excited just catching some dinner for him self and his wife. That's real fishing in my openion. How bout that.

Doing what he wants to do. Whats wrong with that. He probably doesn't have high blood pressure, heart problems, high cholesterol, marital problems or dept. Not a worry in the world.
Depends on whatβs in his pipe! Hopefully just tobacco or he may have kept more than 2 trout π€ππΌββοΈπ£

Sometimes when I go (fishing) I get as close to the water as I can on level ground engage the breaks on my walker. Drive in my rod holder, cast my hook (unbaited) as far out there as I can, sit on the seat of my walker. and wait for the dreams to start. Now that's living I can fish all day and not have to worry about having to clean fish when I go home. I've skinned enough coon and cleaned enough fish to last me.
Sounds a lot like me whenever I go bank fishing for trout. I often just sit there and hope they don't bite so I don't have to reel them in. I got to be really hungry for trout to actually keep one and eat it. But I sure do enjoy sitting there.

If I could sit there with my line in the water and listen to my old Bluetick hounds burning an old boar coons butt up. That's what my dreams are made of. When they tree I may have to crawl but I'm going to 'em

One of the best ways to eat trout is to filet it put that in a plastic bag along with a full squeeze of lemon juice. In about 15 min. Its cooked an ready to eat. If you have some onion and tomato to throw in all the better. It's called ceviche
I know flyguy is waiting for this - lime juice works just as well. I don't usually make ceviche with fish, I use shrimps. Onion, tomato and hot peppers. Good stuff!
I love to squirrel hunt in fall after the leaves are gone. I grab my old 22 rifle & head down the creek. I find a good spot to watch the acorn trees & set down in the sun with my back to a tree. I'll set there & watch the squirrels for a while before I go to sleep. After a couple hours I get up & walk back home, my squirrel hunt a success. I love fried squirrel but I haven't taken one in several years.
