Time spent with him worth more than money can get for you. I think some braided line would help his reel pick up better what you think? I'll be over there soon and I might get some on it for my birthday. If we loose that reel memory it should be better and then work on his casting and changing hands. He kinda like me though he's a straight right handed feller.

Garry your not alone losing that sleep before fishing. Doesn't even matter if I went the day before that anticipation is a sleep robber. Hit the sack at 10 check the clock every 15 minutes or so to see if its time to get up. And for some reason when my feet get in the kayak, wide awake. However, don't get near that recliner when I get back. It actually talks to me. Or its that angel on my shoulder.

Sounds just like me Pb. Don’t know why but it has always been just like that. I just LOVE TO FISH !!!

With fishing it has always been like that for me too, But my first love is coon hunting with my hounds, and I never had it bother me like that. I was writing this when I thought, well now that's because you are loosing the sleep while your doing it dumb butt. Coon hunters do it all night.

So glad you got to go with you son but especially your grandson. I still wake up with out an alarm ready to go fishing. Wonderful your grandson caught that many bream. Wonderfully memories. When I was keeping my 4 wk old grandson today I was telling about all the fish we were going to catch and he would give a grin. I am sure he has no idea what I am saying but it makes your heart flutter when he smiles. Can't wait to make memories as you did with your grandson.

I worked shifts For about 35 years and coon hunted from 4 to 6 times a week. Then one day my wife said that if I wouldn't coon hunt anymore I could fish all I wanted to and she would never ever complain. SHE LIED!! She didn't realize that you could fish every day or night 24-7. 4 1/2 years later I hadn't miss a 24 hour period with out wetting my line. and when I wasn't fishing I was either reading or dreaming fish. I had to slow down. My wife wanted me to go back to hunting.

My youngest Grandson 8 years old and his Dad are Coming to take me fishing this morning. It is a cub scout event. I won't be fishing myself just helping him (his dad doesn't fish, but the boy loves it. He caught his first catfish (a small channel) with me almost 5 years ago, and learner to cast my ultra lite spinning outfit that day. My clock is set for 4:30 we haven't fished together in Quite some time and I am excited. I got about 3 hrs sleep early but since then it has been like I was the 8 year old I'll catch a wink and startle awake and ask is it time yet!!? when I look at my clock it's only been 10 minutes since the last time. Well hang it I'm up now and time is going a little faster, at my age (77 in about a week) a feller should be over that but it has always been like that for me. Glad I'm not driving.
