I can sleep better tonight. Disturbed, but sleep will eventually come. Thanks OZ just what the doc ordered.

Red Skelton. Hysterically funny and not one dirty word. Add Danny Kaye in, too.

Serious question here. What is with the red circle they paint on a sheep's hind quarters.

It is a brand. Sheep are branded with paint.

Steve McQueen and his long short pistol rifle.

45/70 would do some damage.

McQueen carried a 44/40. They put 45/70 ammo in his belt because it looked so badass. The Rifleman carried a 44/40 as well. I loved the introduction to the Rifleman. He emptied his rifle and reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out his single, Barney Fife bullet.

Thanks for the clarification.

Hey Pb,
I still have a Rin Tin Tin stuffed toy from those days (60+ years ago). Even still has his collar.

I am not a 4H person, butt.

My wife was involved in 4-H for many years and she says the red chalk-paint marks were to identify the sheep for the auction/sale after showing was over.

M.A.S.H WAS great ! - until Alan Alda started pushing his moralistic agenda into the program ! Stopped watching near the end - couldn't stand it
anymore ! Seemed like it completely lost the gist of the original movie, and they started censoring carry-overs from the movie almost immediately !

Thanks Mrs. H, I knew that there had had to be a good reason and where else could I find it but on the fishing stage. Just got to know where to ask, that darn encyclopedia book in the S section was useless.

Randy that Rin Tin Tin was the main reason I waited nearly 45 years to have a German Shepard when I could care for one. Talk about best friends, that he was. He is guarding the house from above these days and talked about amongst the family how he saved the wife's life twice. With me walked anywhere we pleased and was never approached. Never trained him to be mean,he just had bad people insight.

Below is a web site pic of Rin.

He is quite handsome; dogs, cats and horses all seem to sense immediately when someone is 'off' or not quite right for whatever reason ! People who have any one of them would be wise to heed their pet's reaction to strangers; that alone could actually save your (and your family's) life !
