It would have to be a wacky rig. A ned rig would be a close 2nd. If it was a lake with drop off shorelines & no cover I'd go for the ned rig. I've caught ton's of perch on trout worms fished wacky. It's a blast, try it.

My best producer has been a 3" curly-tail grub in dark green with a chartreuse tail; close second would be a 3" tube in dark green with gold specks ! Both have gotten me dozens of largemouths in the 2-3-4 lb. range, and not a few smallies in the same sizes/weight class !

Yep ! But they do seem to have their preferences by species for water temp, cover and forage ! Largemouths are more lethargic and like warmer, slower waters, while smallies tend to prefer cooler, faster rivers or deeper, colder lakes/ponds ! Largemouths and smallies both like worms/
'crawlers, shiners, shad; while largemouths prefer frogs and smallies like crawdads ! As this is mostly true in most places, there are of course local exceptions, and are often interchangeable !
