Went ultralight jigging in 62 degree Carnegie Lake this evening in the pouring rain during a 50 knot sou’easter gale. Was surprised to find 8 other fishermen there. Two were still there when I quit at night. Wore my Helly Hansen rain jacket and Grundens bibs. Got water in my Lacrosse knee boots when I waded out too far into the lake. Rowers were on the lake. Caught and released 7 white perch, 3 yellow perch, 3 bluegills, a largemouth bass, a black crappie, a golden shiner, a red breasted sunfish and a green sunfish with a tiny Temu green leadhead jig and 1” chartreuse twister tail on 2 lb test line. Catching 8 species of fish 🐟 in one spot with one lure was amazing. Used a Zebco spinning rod that Tony J gave me when he moved to Florida. Thanks again Tony. Saw carp jumping again. The lake will probably be a muddy flood with current tomorrow which will be good for carping but I may try Turnmill Pond instead. I don’t like fishing 🎣 where most of the fishermen kill most of the fish that they catch.
That Reel almost loos as old as some of mine. LOL 1972 and 1978, Still using them. GM 406 and Diawa 7700A
Fish don’t mind the rain, they are already wet. Nice little reel, a little TLC will make it last a long time. Congrats on making the best of it!

Pretty wild bands, quite unusual to catch 8 different species in a day but from one spot on the same jig is pretty cool.
Excellent results, as always.
Seems like the fish wanted a chartreuse twister yesterday that’s what I caught fish on but it was a 3” one.

Another multispecies catching fest. Great job Bands, especially in the bad weather.
My dad always said that the best place to fish in the rain was under a bridge. The fish went there to keep from getting wet

You never cease to impress me Sir !🤙 Nice Photos 👍
Please excuse my ignorance, but what kind of fish is the one between the yellow perch and the bluegill? Fun catch. I love variety.
Is it still ok to eat fish?

When I first started fishing 🎣 that spot, signs said don’t eat any fish 🐠 because they were loaded with mercury. If you eat seafood, read the health advisories first. I know someone who got mercury poisoning from seafood.
